Karen Daugherty, a Colorado native, has her business and art studio in Littleton, Colorado. She began her painting career in watercolors over thirty years ago. She has continued to expand her modes of artistic expression and ultimately found that she had a profound love of china painting. She has adapted her personal touch of china painting techniques into a revolutionary painting and kiln firing process for antique pieces of enamelware.
As her art developed into a business, she began color-separating her original artwork by hand. With the help of her husband, they made personalized hand-pulled reproductions which were then fired onto new and antique pieces of enamelware. Their idea of using the shape of the old chamberpot that our grandparents grew up with is now the Daughertys' registered enamelware "popcorn bowl."
Karen's artwork on all of the enamelware, china pieces, tiles/trivets and glass lamp globes is kiln fired. Utility and beauty have been combined not only for cooking but for decorating the the house as well.
Karen, also, has the marvelous ability for matching and creating handpainted glass globes for antique lamps.
